Many times I’ve said that the good news and bad news about Zoom’s application is that they are constantly updating it. It’s good that they’re improving security and efficiency, and occasionally adding new features many of us can use. But it’s bad in the sense that you have to update your Zoom app in order to keep up with the new capabilities.

And effective November 1, 2021, Zoom will require your Zoom app to be no more than 9 months behind the current version. (See their article on the 9-Month Release Window.)

Updating Zoom Is Easy!

The truth is, if you just visit this page on the Zoom website and look for your computer operating system, you can easily update your Zoom software.

If you have a Zoom account (and if you don’t, you should get one — read why), all you need to do is click your profile icon in the upper right corner of the Zoom application window to bring up the menu, and click “Check For Updates”. If there’s an update, it’ll just do it; if there’s no update, you’re done!
